Welcome to Brian Banna's insane world of N-Scale Rail Prototype Modeling
(RPM). I have spent the last ten years or so RPMing HO-Scale models,
designing HO detail parts and experimenting
with designs. I still enjoy the wide
variety of modeling opportunities that HO-Scale offers and I still enjoy a new
project once in a while. You can see these projects on my 6axlepwr web site.
HO-Scale is no doubt the preferred modeling scale. My modeling skills have
greatly increased with each model, but my satisfaction has dwindled a bit.
There are a lot of great HO-Scale RPM modelers out there. The RPM shows
have proven this time and again. I do n
ot think there will be a shortage of HO
modelers for a long time.

This got me to thinking though.............

Before I started HO-Scale RPMing, I was an
N-Scale RPMer. My first
completed model was an N-Scale big sky blue GP35. An Atlas model no
doubt. It was when Sunshine Enterprises was king of N-Scale detail parts and
offered a wide variety. Since coming back to N-Scale modeling a year or so
ago I have learned that Sunrise parts are few and far between with no hope
of them returning. So back to my thinking. Why can't N-Scale be on par with
HO for RPM modeling. Yes I know, HO has a larger platform to work with,
but I do know it is possible because I have been experimenting lately with
some ideas and doing some behind the scene modeling.

I tried to give my ideas to a manufacturer. He did not want anything to do with
it. I was told (not in these exact words) that N-Scale
"Modeling" was dead.
There was no market for it and that N-Scalers did not want to bother with
detailing their models. That N-Scalers were simply happy with their
Ready-to-Run models. Maybe, but I think differently. It may be a smaller
market, but I still think there are N-Scalers with grand ideas for bringing their
models to life if they only had the parts available. Not everyone is a
Ready-to-Runner.

Recently I have found someone who believes in my ideas. Someone who is
enthusiastic and excited and has given me a great deal of encouragement to
forge on. I am a visualizer. I can see what my design will look like when it is
completed. I know that I can design parts that will capture the imagination of
the modeler and get them excited about modeling. Imagine being able to build
a model that is very detailed and exciting to look at as any of its HO-Scale
counterpart! I am embarking on a venture that I envision will spark an interest
with N-Scale modelers.

I am not going to try and fool anyone here. My products are not for the timid
or impatient. They are for the modeler that really wants realism in their
models and is willing to take the time to
"BUILD" it.
