This web site is dedicated to the greatest man I ever knew. My father, George Banna - October 31, 1929 / August 02, 2005. He will be greatly
missed in my life. My dad is who introduced me to modeling when I was about 4 years old. He built my first model for me. The USS Minneapolis.
Christmas 1970 he introduced me to N-Scale model trains. He stayed up all night and well into Christmas day to put together a 4x8 layout. It was
not until just before he passed away that I found out he liked models as a kid too. My father served in the navy on the USS Missouri. Also in the
navy he got his start at the beginning of the computer age. He became very successful as a programmer. My father was very patriotic, flew a US
flag every day with it properly light at night. He was proud of his country and had strong conservative beliefs. I believe that is why he was so
successful at everything he did.

Thanks dad for everything!
RAILROAD PROTOTYPE MODELING
HISTORICAL PRESERVATIONIST. PRESERVING THE PROTOTYPE THROUGH MODELING
By Brian Banna
Thank you for taking the time to visit my web site. This web site will be an ongoing project. My focus is on HO scale prototype modeling. Primarily diesel
locomotives. I do not have any particular favorite road to model, though my favorite region and era is midwest/eastern railraods from the late 1960's to mid
1970's. That era is filled with a variety of locomotive types and manufacturers and this region is very colorful and has a lot of character for railroading from
open countryside to dirty industrial cities to slugging up mountain grades. Though probably the darkest period for US railroads, I think the start of the Conrail
era has to be by far the most colorful era to model. Just about every type and manufacturer of diesel motive power ran the rails under Conrail. There was no
end to the motley looking lash ups you could find at that time. My modeling will not take you any further than the EMD SD40-2, the work horse of the American
railroads. If you want to see any modeling projects beyond the tooshdah
* era, you will not find them here in these pages.

I will bring to you within these pages my modeling projects as well as the tips and  techniques I use to complete my projects. I will not fill these pages with
fancy/ flashy things to slow down your load times. I like to use lots of photos though to explain my modeling. I will do my best to keep my pages simple. Any
material used on these pages that is not mine or of my making, I will always get permission and place credit for the owner. Please respect the ownership of the
content on this page as well as the pages linked from this page. If there is anything you would like to copy for your own personal use or reference, please ask.
Any material that is not mine, I cannot give you permission to use.

I hope you enjoy what you see on this site. I have only two intentions with this site. One is of course to show off my modeling, but more importantly to me is to
promote the art of
"FINE SCALE RAILROAD MODELING"!

If you have any questions or comments about modeling or my projects or just want to talk modeling, or if there is any desire to advertise on my web site,
please feel free to
EMAIL me.
